Author Baird, David M. (David McCurdy)
David McCurdy Baird (1920-2019) was a Canadian geologist and professor. Born in Fredericton, he studied in New Brunswick and New York and obtained his Ph.D. at McGill University in Montreal in 1947. He held many teaching jobs at Canadian universities as well as prominent administrative positions at museums. He was instrumental in the creation of Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of Newfoundland. He wrote several books focusing on Canadian geography and science.
