|Description:||After the man she loves dies suddenly, Maria must choose which of two suitors to marry. One offers a change to life in the big city or should she choose the other where life would continue in the countryside.|
|Translator:||Included in this edition is an introduction by the translator, W. H. Blake. Blake critiques Hémon’s use of French-Canadian idioms and descriptions of customs, since Hémon was originally from France and not fully acquainted with the local culture.|
Author Hémon, Louis
